In this class you will learn the techniques of breath awareness meditation, walking meditation, loving kindness meditation and other techniques to help you develop your own practice.

Each week we will explore the philosophical underpinnings of mindfulness and how the 8 fold noble path of Buddhism can be applied in our everyday lives. This is not a course on Buddhism. 

 Each class will include deep relaxation and/or guided healing meditation.

Monday Morning Meditation

There are many kinds of Meditation Practices, not 1 size fits all.

In a busy life, we do not always have hours to sit and meditate. It is not always practical to burn candles or incense or sage; sit cross-legged in the lotus position with your hands holding a mudra whilst chanting, in a dimly lit quiet place. If you are able to do any of this, that is fabulous.

However, for many having those expectations means they do not meditate. In reality, you can meditate whilst showering, walking, sitting on the train, in the park, driving… anywhere, anytime. The optimum length of time is 20 mins, but research shows 2 minutes of meditation can be beneficial.

Learn the science behind the need for meditation and how meditation benefits your health.

Sample a variety of relaxation and meditation practices, that you can pick and choose from, that resonate with you, or just suit your situation and location.

As Dr Seuss might say, "you can meditate on the train, on a plane or in the rain".

Expressive art allows expression of emotions, there is no artistic skill or experience required to do these workshops, anyone can do expressive art.

Art is healing and powerful. Through the process of creating a piece of art, our story is reflected back to us and insights are gained.

Explore the healing of meditation and creative arts under the safe and gentle guidance of experienced facilitator, meditation teacher and Artist Sal Lavallee from Bogong Moth Art and Holistic Services.
