Where We Are: Decolonisation, Solidarity & Liberation

  • The Meditation Space 11 Patrick Street Campbelltown AUstralia (map)

Sal Lavallee & Fio Aengus (Gede Parma) are putting their heads and hearts together to anchor and facilitate a space in which people of diverse histories, backgrounds, and ethnicities can deepen into the implications of living in occupied and unceded territory,

*as artists
*as activists
*as spirit-workers and witches
*as healers
*as lovers

This intensive, running from 10 AM to 6 PM is not being provided as a fix-it, a solution, a band-aid, or a feel-good experience.

Sal, a Ngarigo Buhlung (Ngarigo woman) from the Ngarigo and Yuin nations, will speak on the significance of Country, listening deeply to Spirits of the Land, and how we can not just acknowledge but be in active solidarity with First Nations communities and causes.

Fio, a Balinese-Australian hereditary spirit-worker and professional witch, will join Sal in exploring anti-racist practices, the power of syncretism and multiculturalism, agency, cultural appropriation, and the power of witchery, magic, and ritual as ways to move through and provoke colonial and imperialist consequences and realities.

More details to come.

Exchange: 90-150 AUD.

*In recognition that financial circumstance often correlates to systems of privilege and oppression, two free spaces will be held for folks who are Indigenous, of Colour, Queer, Trans, single parents, or who are living with disability or mental illness.
